A diptych facing the Mediterranean
Architect-designed villa — Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, France
Preliminary Sketch
For this villa nestled in an exceptional natural setting, the Atelier collaborated with the architectural studio PPF Goujon Architectes.
For this bespoke commission, three sculptural movement proposals were developed for the diptych. The selected sketch is shown below.
The Brief
The request was to create a diptych installed on either side of the living room fireplace.
Dimensions
The chosen format is a diptych composed of two panels measuring 130 × 180 cm each.
The artwork is sculpted with longitudinal scales whose movement continues from one panel to the other.
A Bespoke Colour Palette
The patina was developed to harmonize with the shades of deep blue and azure present in the villa’s interior design (lighting, furniture, and textiles).
Pigments
Around ten blue pigments were used to create this patina, including phthalo, cobalt turquoise, cerulean, and manganese.
