A Double-Sided Artwork
The uniqueness of this piece lies in the fact that it actually consists of two round artworks, each created independently and then assembled once completed using an interlocking system with no visible screws, requiring exceptional precision.
The two pieces are visually connected by a 5 mm brass rim, which continues through the rod and into the base.
Mirror Relief
The sculpted design was created to fulfill two intentions: The movement of the small scales appears to originate from the sculpture’s axis and is designed to be reversible. Both sides mirror each other, enhancing the perception of a single unified artwork.
Stone and Brass Base
The base is made from a single block of Burgundy stone, initially cut in two and then reassembled using a “mechanical stapling” technique. This traditional method from woodworking, metal, and stone crafts allows two elements to be joined mechanically without any adhesive, here using three meticulously crafted brass pieces.
